California Ranch School provides more than an education – it prepares students for life! Students become instilled with a love of learning and an ability to research any subject on their own. This ability to rapidly learn new material is vital to success in tomorrow’s changing workplace. California Ranch School (CRS) was started in 1990 by Carlynn and John McCormick. In 1997, professional educator Claudia Nicolosi joined the McCormicks. Today, Claudia is the Executive Director. In addition to the day school, CRS offers an independent studies program, and for homeschooling families around the country, HomeGrad of America. The school publishes its own educational materials and carefully selects other curriculum for sale through the Ranch Publications bookstore. We are licensed by the State of California and by a prestigious educational organization, Applied Scholastics.. Our staff is highly trained in the educational methods and techniques of Applied Scholastics. We have both full time and part time staff with a range of university education and professional skills such as writing, engineering, Spanish, and computer programming. California Ranch School uses the educational philosophy and study breakthrough made by educator, Mr. L. Ron Hubbard known as Study Technology. With it students learn techniques that make them more self-reliant and less dependent on their teachers. They learn to research and answer their own questions. Study Technology cuts through the problems that make study seem so arduous in the first place. Mr. Hubbard discovered barriers to study that can cause students a host of problems. When students are taught to recognize these barriers and their cause, they can overcome them. Study becomes enjoyable. CRS’s excellent curriculum is used by other private schools, educators and homeschoolers throughout the country. We are constantly researching and improving materials to ensure the most up-to-date curriculum, that at the same time fully stresses the fundamentals vital to a solid education and follows the study methods of Mr. Hubbard. |
